Now in its 24th year, The Monkey Bar remains North Toronto’s favourite neighbourhood restaurant. Proprietor and Chef Richard Fox-Revett, formerly of The Windsor Arms Hotel, The Four Seasons Yorkville, Splendido and Centro, offers a contemporary bistro menu that includes seafood, meat, pasta, and vegetarian dishes. Many of our menu items are gluten-free and paleo-friendly. Since your dinner is cooked to order, we are able to accommodate most allergy and dietary requirements. We even offer a children’s menu. Chef Richard uses local and organic ingredients where possible, as well as sustainable seafood. Everything is prepared in-house, from soup to nuts, even the hand-cranked ice cream! Our atmosphere is warm and inviting, and our service is friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoy a pre-dinner drink from our specialty cocktail menu, or a selection from our broad list of premium vodka and single malt scotch. An extensive wine list, featuring new and old world wines by the glass, half litre and bottle, complements your dining experience.
Chef Richard’s right hand man in the kitchen is Chef Robert Yeung, who has been with The Monkey Bar for over a decade. You will often spot Richard’s son Jeremy in the kitchen too. On the floor you will find Richard’s wife Melissa, and often daughter Lindsay or son Cameron (ask him to sing "Happy Birthday"), as well as Katia who started working at The Monkey Bar fifteen years ago, and Steven who has been with us for three years. Each and every one of us is committed to providing you with a memorable and enjoyable dining experience.
